My lovely summer quilt

Новая пинкушенка навеяна мечтами о тепле и лете. Когда можно выйти во двор, расстелить квилт на траве, лечь и смотреть в небо на пролетающие облака.
Ну, если еще арбузика кто-нибудь принесет...так вообще. Мечта, я ж говорю:)
Pincushion has been inspired by my sincere desire of summer and warmth in general. The time when you can get outside, spread that bright quilt on the grass and just watch these clouds fly by.Well,if somebody will bring me some watermelon..that'd be great! A great-great summer dream!

Rose pincushion

Все началось с того, что я купила коробочку (она напомнила мне цвета из летней тильдовской книги).И еще мне понравилось, что можно подписать коробочку. Конечно, я бы не забыла, что в ней лежит, но мысль сделать лейбл понравилсь мне еше больше.


I have been thinking of this one for a while. It is all started with a cute round tin box that reminded me Tilda color combos from Sew Pretty Homestyle.And I just liked that box because there is a place for labeling. No way that I'd forget what I keep in this tin, but...adding a label makes it even sweeter:)
I'd knew I should make some thing for sewing. Something for the pins...or buttons. But since I have HUUUUGE amount of buttons I really needed a BIGGER tin.
So I stitched lil' rose on the piece of fabric (pink fabric, of course- it's the only color for me).Я знала, что там будет лежать что-то для шитья. НАпример, булавки, иголки или пуговицы. Но пуговиц у мен столько, что понадобилась бы КОРОБИЩА под них.Таким образом, я вышила розочку (на розовой ткани, конечно-тут выбора не было для меня:))) )

I gathered piece together and put it on the top of box. Well, nope...something wrong. Too tall and uncomfortable to open. What if there are needles on top? they will easily poke the hand.Think-think-think, silly old Bear!
И призадумалась: куда присобачить этот набитый шарик? на коробку-получалось что-то высокое, с опасной возможностью уколоть руку (если захочется открыть коробку).Дошло до Винни-Пуха только на следующий день: нужно сделать игольницу внутри.
Aha-moment comes only next day:))) I made another fluffy circle and put it inside of the box. And you know what? Now it's really functional and even more safe then regular open style pincushion. Have made your things?-hide your pins:)))
Сейчас это очень хорошенькая и функциональная вещь: пошил-закрыл-и забыл про иголки. Ну, не на совсем-пока лейбл не прочитаешь:)

Это очевидно, что любовь к дизайнам Atalie охватила вышивальное сообщество. Любовь-то у меня случилась давно, но мой черед крутить эти розочки пришел только сейчас. Кто их еще не делал-отзовись!:) ну, в общем, я рада, что попробовала:)

It is obviously that love to Atalie designs is speading like a wild fire in stitching community. It was my turn to have fun spinning these roses then.Who hasn't tried to make them yet?Raise your hand!:) I'm glad I've tried my hands with it:)


Только вышла тут одна неприятная неожиданность: нитки, которыми я вышивала, полиняли при стирке(только темные участки).Они от Coats и называются "С эффектом ручной окраски -Пастель". Так что лучше не стирать готовую работу, если оттенок ниток темный-коричневый, красный, фиолетовый и тд., а прогладить с паром.
Но, думаю, ничего не произойдет с более светлыми тонами.Не знаю, видно ли вам, что случилось, на фото.Мне-видно:)

There is only one dissapointment..it is floss I used. It's called Coats Hand-dyed Effect Pastel. Sinse I've never used them before I didn't know that they might bleed.I'm not sure if you can see what happened but I can.So if you have these floss don't wash your design when it's finished. Better way is to iron your work with hot steam iron.But maybe this advice is good only for dark deep colors like brown, dark red,purple... and light colored floss will behave better.

Вот такая розовенькая пинкушенка получилась.
Отправится на благотворительное мероприятие, как и в прошлом году.
Набита на-по-по-лам лавандой. В моем альбоме запахов-как это практикуется в некотрых продвинутых африканских племенах-лаванда ассоциируется с Никиным детским увлажняющим лосьоном " для неугомонных детей" (надпись на этикетке такая была).Как понюхаю-сразу в то время...

I have made a pink pincushion today for the charity craft auction. Filled with polyfill and dried lavender. I always remember those days when Nicole was a baby and I used on her lavender lotion "for the restless babies" :)) So I kinda like this lavender flashback.





На обратной стороне тут бабочка попалась под булавки...хорошо, что только нарисованная- художником по ткани Дженнифер Паганелли.

There is a butterfy that pined to the backside of the pincushion...well, not real one-and that's good. Only the butterfly on the fabric created by Jennifer Paganelli. Oh, what a wonderful quality it has!

O, я еще открытку сегодня смастерила. Никогда раньше не пришивала бумагу на бумагу-забавное ощущение.Эти цветы можно найти у меня в магазине.

Well, I've made one more thing today. It's a handmade greeting card for Nikki's friend. I've never before stitched paper to paper...it gave me interesting feelings. I have these embellishments for sale at my etsy shop.

I've noticed lately that I prefer to make things in pink-yellow-green-blue combos. I guess because Easter in on its way.

Why I have not made it before?
This pumpkin shape -or how are they called right?- is so much fun to make!
I've stitched a heart shaped design (it is a set- heart+garland)according chart key before. It turned out good, but color combos were not my favorites.
So I picked colors myself this time and I think it worked out just great!
Looooove this cottage style look!Remind me Tilda designs from Sew Pretty Homestyle by the way:)
